Something Greek's Famous Greeks Series is celebrating its first birthday! A year ago the Oscars gave us the idea to start showcasing which celebrities joined Greek organizations in college. What resulted was our most popular blog topic! In celebration of this special anniversary, we're bringing you back to the Oscars. Check out these Greek-letter-wearing Oscar nominees for 2013, and be sure to watch them on the red carpet this Sunday.

Famous Greek Fraternity Famous Celebrity, Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg and the word Oscar are practically synonymous (he's won three and he's been nominated for 12). He is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. His film, Lincoln, is nominated for best picture this year.

Denzel Washington Famous Greek Fraternity Celebrity. Omega Psi Phi

Denzel Washington is a brother of Omega Psi Phi. He isn't a newcomer to the Oscars either. Washington has been nominated for six Oscars during his career and he has won two.

Did we miss anyone? There seems to be some discrepancy as to whether Jennifer Lawrence (nominated for Silver Lining's Playbook, also the star of The Hunger Games) is in a sorority. Personally, I wish I could say the person who played Katniss was in my sorority, and I bet I'm not alone. Regardless, we will be feeling the Greek unity on Sunday, and we hope that Spielberg and Washington make their fraternities proud!
